This week’s Featured Athlete was chosen by Coach Joel. Thanks for being an amazing member of our Double Edge Community Morgan! “Morgan first came to the gym with very little strength training background but by no means was a slouch to fitness.  She had recently finished running the annual Ragnar race up in Lake Tahoe and exercised weekly but lacked some general strength.  Fast forward less than a year and she is stronger than she ever has been, setting weekly PR’s and literally carrying around her coach with ease!  Thank you Morgan for being such an inspiration to all of us! I look forward to seeing what the next year brings!” – Coach Joel

This week’s Featured Athlete was chosen by Coach Kelly! Keep up the awesome work Carly! “My girl Carly is my DE Member Monday!! She consistently comes and crushes it in the morning and would often double up and come back to Ladies Night for round 2! She hasn’t missed a Committed Club month yet! She’s such a hard worker with a great attitude and is getting so strong. I’ve enjoyed watching her on her fitness journey so far and can’t wait to see where the future takes her! Plus she’s a hair guru, an amazing dog aunt and always the best dressed. Thank you for being a part of our community! Keep up the great work!️” – Coach Kelly

This week’s #DECFMonday was chosen by Coach Joaquin. Hell yea Jacob! We’re glad to have you as part of the Double Edge Community! “Most don’t know that I actually did Jacob’s intro when we first opened the South location. The workout consisted of sprints on the bike, squats, and push ups. And let me tell you this dude went hard! It was supposed to be an hour, but by the time he recovered, almost two had passed. When he left, I was certain he wouldn’t return. After no response and a few weeks, I had pretty much accepted it wasn’t for him. Fast forward one year later, and he walks through the door as nothing had happened! Now I see him every week, and he loves it! He loves to party and he always works hard. I would like to say thank you to Jacob for proving me wrong and...

By: Derek Wellock Overcoming yourself is the first step to making any kind of positive change in your life. I know, as I have had to do this many times and will have to do it many more times. But oftentimes when momentum and motivation are lacking it is easy to let yourself slip, fall behind and lose track of your goals. When you find yourself slipping there are some things you need to do, and you must do. First, you need to gain perspective, where are you now? Where have you come from? What is your new norm? If you were to draw a line graph of your progress over the last year or your life, would that line graph trend in a positive direction? If the answer is yes, then you need to give yourself some grace. You might need to back off the throttle for a second,...

This week’s #DECFMonday was chosen by Coach Jess. Way to go Ami! We couldn’t be happier that you’re part of our Double Edge Community! “Ami is another wonderful part of this community. Her smile and sass make getting up at 4am just a bit easier. When I first transitioned to coaching at Midtown, Ami went out of her way to get to know me and make me feel comfortable. I also witness her extend that same kindness to every new person that shows up to class. She will always go out of her way to high five them and remind them that Welded is hard for all of us, but we keep showing up anyway. I consider myself so lucky that I get to watch Ami work hard and be a part of her journey. She is putting in some incredible work to reach her goals, often showing up to...
