In a world that focuses so much on cosmetic features, its really easy to get caught up in it. You see yourself for what the number on the scale says, rather than for what you are. The Mainstream media put this image out that muscles are masculine and because of that women and girls at a young age learn that they don’t want to be “bulky”. Woman then just want to be skinny and apart of fad diets that promote poor eating habits and unhealthy lifestyles.
It is so great to see the culture here at Double Edge, and what Welded in general really does. We are apart of a community that when they look at muscular women they see hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and discipline. We created a place that the women just don’t inspire each other but they inspire the men too.
The perception that Men and Women come in with before they start Welded is definitely not the image they have after spending some time here. The men are proud to workout and be friends with strong independent women, and the women love being able to keep up and push with the men!
We should all be proud of the fact that we are changing the way mainstream describes women. Remember “It’s not what your body looks like, its what your body can do.” And trust me the Bodies we have here at Double Edge can do anything!!!
