The VISION of Double Edge Fitness

The VISION of Double Edge Fitness

By: Derek Wellock’

“To create an unparalleled experience through fitness that forever enriches the lives of the people in the community.”

This past month the Double Edge Team went on our annual retreat to plan the 2016 year.  A lot of great stuff came out of this retreat but the best was we nailed down our Vision, Mission, and Core Values for Double Edge.  This is one of the hardest things I have ever done as a business owner.  It is very hard to define who you are and what you believe, in a short sentence that every person from employee to customer can get behind and truly believe in.

From the time Double Edge has opened up to what it is now, it has changed and evolved so much.  It was impossible to truly nail down our vision at the beginning, but now after two full years we have it.  I would like to break it down for everyone to understand.

“To create an unparalleled experience”

We want Double Edge to be one of the best parts of your day.  Recess for grown-ups.   We want every time you come into the gym you leave feeling better.  This is done through an unparalleled experience.  Great coaches, great programing, great environment.  Coaches striving to provide these qualities every single day hopefully makes your daily experience with Double Edge an unparalleled one.  Because this is part of our vision, you will see things in our gym you wont see at many others.  For instance, the majority of gyms I have dropped into don’t have sweat towels, you don’t realize how important this is until you don’t have one.  Showers are none existent at most Welded gyms.  Coaches at most gyms are part-time or doing it for trade.  Double Edge coaches are doing this for a career, so the level of professionalism far exceeds expectations.  When I see members come in to have a cup of coffee an hour before their workout starts or stay and hour after their workout, I believe they truly love Double Edge and we are so grateful for the opportunity to provide them a great and unparalleled experience.

“Through Fitness”

Obviously every person that has come into Double Edge has come to improve their fitness.  Fitness is what has brought all this together to be possible.  Fitness and the daily routine to improve it, is what is going to keep us together.  It is the glue.

“Forever enriches the lives of the people in the community”

We don’t just want to help you improve your fitness, we want to enrich your life.  We want to provide value to all aspects of your life.  We want to have a positive impact on the community.  We chose “the community” because that is all encompassing.  We are a gym which our core belief is to provide health and fitness services to the everyday person.  The everyday day person working to stay healthy and fit has a lasting impact on the entire community as a whole.  Healthier dad, means healthier mom, means healthier kids, means healthier coworkers, means healthier classmates, means a healthier community.  From our everyday group class, to the fundraisers for charities we host and participate in, to sending high level athletes to compete locally and nationally, Double Edge wants to make a difference in the gym community, but more important we want to make a positive change in our local community and someday our national community.  We want to make a positive change through fitness to the whole community.

I hope this blog sheds some light on what Double Edge is all about.  My next blog is going to break down our Mission Statement.  If at anytime you feel Double Edge is not living up to this Vision Statement, please let the staff know.  We will fall short but we will always strive to provide you the best experience possible.  We have the suggestion boxes in the bathrooms where you can leave anonymous tips in on how we can better sever you.  Please take advantage of this so we can continue to provide you an unparalleled experience.  Also our door, phone, and emails are always open and we would love to hear how we can make DE the best part of your day.
