Metcon For Hope Recap

This past Saturday Double Edge hosted the first ever Metcon For Hope Charity Welded competition.  This event had been on the minds of the staff ever since last Christmas and in a short amount of time we were able to organize and run one of the most successful events yet!

Metcon for Hope had 88 competitors compete in 4 different scored events including toy and food donation for the Northern Nevada Food Bank and Toys for Tots.   The donations far exceed all of our expectations as the total count for toys was over 600 and the total count for non perishable food was 1,600!   Along with the charitable donations of toys and food, we were able to raise over $3,000 on the day of the event which brought the total money donation to $6,000 that will go directly to sponsoring families in need this holiday!

We couldn’t imagine a better ran event with a better turn out!  We want to thank everyone who participated, volunteered and spectated at the event.  All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the effort of so many individuals coming together for one cause.   We would also like to thank Men Wielding Fire for providing the food for the event,  if you haven’t visited their new location on Mt. Rose street make sure to go down and say hi!

Stay tuned to our social media pages as we will be updating everyone on the progress of sponsoring each family!  Once again, we want to thank everyone who helped make Metcon for Hope a success, and we can’t wait to see what we can do next year!
