Savina BrownSavina is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance. She
completed her RYT-200 hour training in 2015 with local-renown, Angie Fraley
and her Om2Yoga teacher-training program. She also completed 100 additional
hours with world-renown, Baron Baptiste. She graduated from Saint Mary’s
College of California with a BS in Psychology and went on to complete her life-
long goal of working in the medical field by becoming a Registered Nurse.
After graduating college, she discovered her true passion for yoga. She would
find her self at the yoga studio everyday, sometimes twice a day. And, she’ll say
that’s where the true magic happened. Savina recognized yoga not only as the
physical practice, but a way of life, a way of being.

In 2014, following her move back to Reno, Savina attended CrossFit at Double
Edge and a whole new passion began to brew. She found the similarities of
movements between CrossFit and yoga to be spot on and truly loved that yoga’s
yin to CrossFit’s yang helped maintain balance, mobility, and mindfulness in both
disciplines. Captivated by this realization, Savina realized she wanted to share
her experiences and hold space for others to cultivate the benefits of both
CrossFit and yoga. In 2015, she began teaching yoga at Double Edge and it
easily became one of her favorite things to do.

Dawn SwinneyDawn resigned from a long career with the US Forest Service in wildland firefighting to pursue her passion of health and fitness and found a home at Double Edge after being a member since its inception in 2014. She started coaching CrossFit and teaching yoga in February of 2018 and enjoys being the bridge in the gap between them. "I love seeing people find relief from both physical and mental/emotional soreness inside the studio!" Dawn believes both yoga and CrossFit are for everyone, and encourages members to find balance in their routine, taking that vital time for recovery and rest.

One of Dawn's favorite quotes is "people do not care how much you know until they know how much you care" and that's why she believes in the mission and values Double Edge stands behind. The people I've met through DE are some of my closest friends. Without people, we're just a building...but with people, we're a community!

Before her passion of a healthy life and the outdoors, Dawn's faith and family are her top priorities.

Haideh PlockHaideh is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and has 25 years of experience working with professional, collegiate and recreational athletes in a variety of sports, including CrossFit. She was employed at the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles for 11 years which was the medical team for all Los Angeles area professional sports teams. Haideh is also a certified yoga instructor and brings her knowledge of the human body into her yoga sequences. She has been a member at Double Edge Fitness since 2016 and is an instructor for the Double Edge yoga program, specifically for specialty series and workshops.

Jenelle SeamandsJenelle loves giving the gift of yoga by debunking the myth that you have to be flexible to do it.

Andrea TonkelI am a science teacher by trade and a fitness enthusiast on the side. I am also a Mom of two active kids - ages 7 and 9. I have coached group fitness classes, including yoga, for almost five years.

I found CrossFit about five years ago and still get butterflies before each WOD.  CrossFit brings out my passion to be my best version of myself – I love seeing others achieve goals and improve. CrossFit makes me better at life – confident, patient and persistent. Yoga, on the other hand, is a reminder that, while my spirit is young, my physical self needs to spend time on recovery, stretching, injury prevention and mind body connection. I think the combination of the two activities complement each other wonderfully and I hope to find you in both places as well!
