Summertime Activities

Now that the weather is starting to warm up (fingers crossed)! I want to talk a bit about the importance of being outside and applying that fitness you work so hard for in the gym everyday. We all do Welded for different reasons, but I think we can all agree that one of those reasons for almost everyone is to be in better overall shape and do things we never could. That is the exact reason we have so many different functional movements in our programming. We’re all improving our fitness, which directly translates to everything you do outside of the gym as well as inside.

If you are not competitive and do not wish to test your fitness and you just love to come in the gym do your workout and be healthier, then perfect! There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you would like to push the boundaries a bit and do something you have never done then that’s great too and I have listed some events in the area that will do just that.

Downtown River Run (4/30)
Reno Tahoe Odyssey (6/2-3)
Tough Mudder (6/10 or 11)
Battle Grounds Competition (6/16-17)
Tahoe Triathlon/Mini Triathlon (8/26 & 27)
Edible Pedal (9/17/17)
Spartan Race (9/30/17)

Whether you want to participate in some of these events or not we should all strive to be more active outside especially while the weather is nice. We have access to beautiful Lake Tahoe with tons of trails for running, hiking and biking as well as swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding! Get outside the gym often and enjoy being fit, it’s good for you!
